Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle saying how thankful it is to not be under county maintenance and lists everything else there is to be thankful for, including being able to do Friday's show, which is the beginning of the post-Thanksgiving Day sales. The Uncle will be traveling to Bruton for Thanksgiving to visit family up there. Surprise, Scott Hunter calls in with his take on the Auburn situation involving Tommy Tuberville. Addition to the Uncle's "thankful list", Scott Hunter being part of the Mobile region. Two "Bad Bill" related answering machine calls, one from old Bill himself continuing to accuse the Uncle of being a hippie and some guy urging the Uncle to let Bill remain with the show. Now the Uncle's thankful for those pranksters not raising his blood pressure. Leeana has been summoned for the Uncle to find out what's with all the audio of him yelling. Turns out those tapes are from last year involving the "Rocky Top" song. Leeana will be off visiting family, especially in-laws tomorrow. Today's Port City's Pizza question is "What do most turkey eggs look like?" White with brown spots is the answer! Today's show gets a 5/5!

Enjoy your Thanksgiving Day!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle bringing up how he spent many times in historic Whistler and other towns in the region, including getting nostalgic over the old Piggly Wiggly. The Uncle's glad somebody called into the Mobile Register's "Sound Off" complained about the Sunday paper's front-page photo of a naked statue. The Uncle brings up another statue in Sunday's paper of a naked woman and her child. First caller was a prankster, once again playing audio of "Bad Bill's" accusing the Uncle of being a hippie once. Speaking of old Bill, he called in suggesting that the Uncle should play that audio more for all to know and ends his call with "you old hippie". "The Idea Guy" brings up what he said a while ago of Leeana being the female Charlie Moss, since she was writing the news for him yesterday. Even says Moss is like Charlie of Charlie's Angels and Leeana is one of them. The Uncle reads e-mail from some guy named Tony requesting for more pictures of Leeana and asks "why this isn't the Leeana Show". Obviously this guy has been viewing the News Radio 710 web site. After a prank call involving Leroy audio, the Uncle was real angry while summoning Leeana on her call screening. The Uncle interviews Christian singer Ray Farnell on his new CD "Rearranged" featuring hymns of another kind. Tracks from the CD were played briefly, including the "Pink Floyd" hymn. After the playing, the Uncle asked, "is this some way of reaching the dope heads?" By the way, Farnell's band is "C-A-L-L". Most of the money made off the CD will go to the United Methodist Church. Today's trivia question for the pizza from Port City Pizza is from "The Idea Guy" via answering machine. The question is "Who was the first Alabama governor to start the tradition of turkey pardoning on Thanksgiving?" Another John gets it correct! The answer is "Big Jim" Folsom. The Uncle refers to the Paul Finebaum Show as "The Finebaum Problem". Today's show gets a 4/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle reminding listeners that he will indeed be off Thursday for Thanksgiving and there will be a "Best of Uncle Henry Show". Yet again, Leeana will pick clips. That's right, the Uncle congratulates Auburn for their Iron Bowl victory Saturday. Interesting "quote of the day" in today's Mobile Register of Tommy Tuberville "As far as I know, there has never been a problem". First caller played an excellent playing of the harmonica, pretty similar to the sound the Uncle heard in his neighborhood after the Iron Bowl game. Greg lifted the Crimson Tide spirit in the Uncle by saying, "the Tide shall shine on!" "Bad Bill" calls in still with the thought of Bush being a drunk while starting a discussion on Jimmy Hendrix. Old Bill even accused the Uncle of being a hippie once. 710 has received a faqs machine document from "Better Growth Mobile", the group against Mobile that has recently sent a proposal to Gov. Bob Riley. The second half-hour began with another prankster playing audio of "Bad Bill's" earlier call. Question from Betty on the state of the Uncle's TV Show. If only that show was more widespread to the folks of the Mobile region. More pizza from Port City Pizza is being offered! It's true, Leeana does multi-task while call screening the best she could, such as writing news articles. She only does that when reporter Charlie Moss is out. The Uncle discovers that Leeana has once again got a piercing for her navel. "When and who proclaimed Thanksgiving Day a national holiday", that's the question for some pizza from Port City Pizza. John answers with "Abraham Lincoln" and is correct! Rare moment, the Uncle promoted Paul Finebaum's four-hour radio program coming up. Today's show gets a 4/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle noticing that it's pretty hard to work around the 710 studios today before the Iron Bowl game. Described the tone of the offices as a "New Orleans Attitude". So, Auburn has lost the game already? Nope, not by scores and such, but too many high expectations for their season. The Uncle's heart goes out to all the Auburn fans out there. Leroy brings up memory from Mardi Gras long ago of the Uncle sitting on an easy chair during the Comic Cowboys parade. A singer named George C. Wallace, Jr. is reported to be son of the former Alabama governor. Thanks for promoting this blog again, Uncle! Who or what is your true "weather authority"? David Glenn or WKRG-TV 5, you decide? The song "Popcorn" playing near the end of today's show is as close the Uncle will get to Rock N' Roll as possible.. Reported by Bill, nope not "Bad Bill", final scores from past Iron Bowls dating back to the 1800s are in today's Mobile Register. In two weeks, the show will have another remote broadcast, this time from Robertsdale. "Thanks to Hall's Meats, for providing us meats", quoting the Uncle at the end of today's show. Today's show gets a 4/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle introducing a special guest that he used to listen to every weekend, the one, the only Rev. Robert Gardener. For the past few months, Gardener describes the job as being one of the most stressful. "Fire and brimstone", the Uncle asks Robert on how he starts off his sermons. Even if Roy Moore had taken his message on a different route, he still would have faced the consequences as a recent. If an election were to be set up for tomorrow, most folks would be disappointed in Bob Riley's leadership of the state. First caller was a prankster, giving Robert a good laugh! Speaking of Rush, Robert was a fan of his show for many years. "Bad Bill" asks a quite intelligent question on same-sex marriage. Yes, Robert would let callers such as old Bill on the air, mostly for the entertainment value. The Uncle even called Robert "the voice of reason", even though that's what he's known as too. Almost a half-hour and three pranksters ago, Leeana is finally summoned by the Uncle. "A shirt of many colors, with Jimmy Hendrix". Yet another movie series the Uncle doesn't under, "Lord of the Rings". Nope, Robert doesn't miss arguing with more liberals on radio. The second half-hour begins with two pranks and a lost call. Nope, no thoughts at all from Robert on the LNG. We just found out the Uncle's not a fan of Elvis Presley. Could the number a pranksters calling in mark a new record? Phillip would definitely vote for Robert for office, so would the Uncle. This brings up his district run back in 1994. The next question for Port City's Pizza is "Alabama is the best team in the country, who said that?" Yes, first caller after the question answered it! The answer is Bobby Jackson. The Uncle hopes all those pranksters don't represent much of society today. www.robertwgardner.com is Robert's future web site. Today's show gets a 3.5/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle playing audio involving "Bad Bill" and yesterdays call with memories of old Bill being a total moron in high school. Even with the rain, the Uncle still says it's a beautiful day. No offence to the National Weather Service, but the Uncle asks why there is a "near 100%" chance of rain for the day. Keep a look out for the Uncle on the Causeway after the show in this weather. More Port City Pizza to be given away with more Iron Bowl Trivia. Speaking of "Bad Bill", he calls in striking back at that guy calling him a moron by saying he was a retard just because he was at the end of the school hallway. The Uncle cut him off after "retard". We'll see if the Uncle doesn't keep leaning on not letting "Bad Bill" call in at all. We've got ourselves a democratic conservative on the discussing how the show has been sort of one-sided on them and leaves a possible opportunity for a show based on that subject. Leeana was asked to get the information on that guy. After complimenting on the interesting calls, another prankster calls in with taped audio. The Uncle reads e-mail from Chris and Jean on the subject of "Conservative Democrat", which says the name is an oxymoron. Nope, Leeana won't be speaking at Hank Aaron Stadium tonight, but tomorrow. Surprise, there is actually activity at the stadium when there are no ball games, discovered by Leeana. Iron Bowl Question #2 "The Name of the Iron Bowl Trophy is?" Another prankster manages to become the first caller after one of these questions asked. Yes, it's been answered! The answer is O.C.D. Trophy. Another e-mail from another Chris reporting on Auburn fans pulling for Alabama this year. Today's show gets a 4.5/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle talking about the disappointing weekend for Alabama and Auburn before the upcoming Iron Bowl this week. Keep a watch for the sensitivity between the two sides for the week. The Uncle reads a Mobile Register article on a pep rally that's said to boost the spirits of the school system over some controversy. A video with Mobile County School System spokesperson Nancy Pierce (former WALA-TV anchor for almost 20 years) shows a bunch of children eating, as an example of the current progress in improving the school system. All of this just doesn't add up to the Uncle. Cutt calls in with memories of "Bad Bill" in high school being the total moron he's known as today. The Uncle taped his call for the show archives under "Bill". Pizza from Port City Pizza will be offered as a prize at the end of the week for answering trivia questions each day. Maybe someone would want some cheeseburger pizza the Uncle ate last Friday. No audio prank, but just some guy saying "hdsadsdjeadksadauese", or something close to that. Bo continues his search for a supermarket his Hall's Meats needs that doesn't treat him like a criminal. Kay may be all excited for the Iron Bowl, but unfortunately the Uncle won't be able to attend due to a family conflict. "I went to the right school" pretty much describes Kay's pride for the Crimson Tide. The question to win the pizza from Port City Pizza is "The 1989 Iron Bowl will be forever etched into the minds of Alabama fans, but there was something significant about the game other than the score?" Mushroom and sausage are Leeana's favorite toppings, which is not too weird in the Uncle's opinion. First caller in this pizza giveaway was a prankster! Yes, the question has been answered correctly! The answer was "Auburn". Leeana will be speaking at Hank Aaron Stadium tomorrow night, along with Jo Bonnar. Today's show gets a 4/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle mocking the Exxon-Mobil ads in the Mobile Register claiming to be a "commitment to you", because of the state's jury verdict on the company for fraud. Lots of possibilities for spending the 11 billion dollars on, so the Uncle asks Exxon-Mobil fan Steve Nodine. That's right, Nodine has returned to the show fresh off a recent golf tourney. New sponsor for the show, Port City Pizza! The Uncle went to the restaurant today for their Friday buffet, which was excellent in his opinion. Steve agrees with the Uncle's suggestion for a "bum boat" for the park near the Mobile Convention Center for those homeless folk nearby. So, a talk show's all about controversy, Uncle? Speaking of controversy, which brought this up, Steve says he wouldn't vote for Roy Moore if he runs for a particular office. Part of a commercial played during Steve putting in his two cents on the Commandments. More proof that you can something everyday, as the Uncle learns of the tennis facility in District 7 being one of the largest in the world. Sally calls about those new Lewis and Clark nickels not having "one nation under God" on them and for Steve check this out. Reported by Van, Paul Finebaum mentioned the Uncle two days ago being worried that he may take some of his 4 hours. Leeana reports on the Christmas Jubilee yesterday, including some lady that considers the Uncle being a "rabid mad dog". Today's show gets a 5/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with audio of the verdict that caused Roy Moore his job as Chief Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court. One thing the Uncle didn't expect to hear after that was Moore's plans for the future, which was said after the verdict. Run for Senate, Congress, or even presidential run? Those are the questions that will ponder the Uncle for a week or two. Scott O'Brien, not a fan of Roy Moore says all he's said early today have nothing to do with the Ten Commandments. "Bad Bill" is the first to call in, which started off as a sort of intelligent call, but instead starts insulting the Uncle about his head after he brings up yesterday's talk on the Andy Griffith reunion. Nope, the Uncle didn't cut off old Bill this time. Scott's surprised of the Uncle not being surprised himself of the removal of Roy Moore. "Other Bill" calls in with a far different take from "Bad Bill" and tells the Uncle to warn listeners of a scam going on around Mobile involving suspicious folk that claim to be Holiday Inn employees. "Bad Bill" calls back to make clear of his last words after his only insult for today. The Uncle mistaken caller John for being "Z" , thanks to Leeana's co-call screener Jessica. Speaking of her, the Uncle summoned her for perspective on the Roy Moore situation, which is hardly anything. The Uncle's "Ten Commandments Radio Memorial" returns! Today's show gets a 5/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with another batch of various greetings from the Uncle. Prepare for a big change in the weather in the upcoming days, fogs first, then high temperatures. The Uncle reads an Associated Press article on Exxon-Mobil said to have cheated the state of Alabama on natural gas and is yet being sued again. No verdict on Exxon-Mobil yet. Again the show begins on a prankster making nonsensical sounds similar to the one yesterday. Possibly some editorial cartoonish thing on the chicken packages being sent to Cuba was passing the Uncle's head. John creates a hypothetical situation involving Albert Einstein greeting newcomers to Heaven; even "war eagle" gets into the situation. Funny stuff by the way. If only the Uncle had taped that call for a possible 15th - 20th anniversary show, if the Uncle's show lasts that long. The Uncle gets a great suggestion on getting audio of John's classic call, by locating one of the pranksters that tape the show for their prank purposes. Jim and the Uncle put in their observations on last night's Andy Griffith Reunion, which in the Uncle's opinion was the best thing he's watched on TV in years. 11:30 AM-1:30 PM are the times Leeana will be at the Convention Center Thursday. Don't expect the Uncle to be there, since it's pretty much as shopping event. The Uncle promises to read e-mail at the end of the week. Some of them a pretty good. If you would like to e-mail the Uncle, the address is Unclehenry@newsradio710.com. Today's show gets a 4/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with various listener greetings from the Uncle on this beautiful Veterans Day. The Uncle offers advice such as washing, mowing, and taking out a vet's trash. The Uncle's point, just do at least one thing for a veteran. After yesterday's show, Leeana interviews Jo Bonnar over his opinion on the LNG terminal. "Fuel of the future" says Jo Bonnar during the interview recorded on tape. Looks like Mike Dow's many visits to Cube establishing relationships with Havana is paying off, now that the Alabama State Docks will be sending chicken to Cuba in the future. The Uncle suggests pro-democracy messages for the chicken packages. Yet again, first caller was a prankster. Dwight reports on Judge Roy Moore's next stop, which is First Baptist Church in Tillman's Corner. Another opportunity to meet Leeana this Thursday at the Mobile Convention Center's Christmas Jubilee. Most likely during the time Rush is on. After Steve's call on tolerance, the Uncle mistaken the show "Queer Eye For The Strait Guy" as "Gay Eye For The Strait Guy", but they're pretty much the same. The Idea Guy suggests a 9% sales tax on chicken going to Cuba and for the Mobile BayBears to change it's name to "Cuba Chickens" to reflect Havana being Mobile's sister city. After the half-hour break, the Uncle suggests Hershey's Kisses or a can of Cheese Wiz for a veteran. "Havanadanasmdnamfsdajssjcd", quoting the best way I can of prankster James. The Uncle described that being a seizure, giving Leeana a good laugh. Leeana's day includes clipping the hair off of her two Copper Spaniels with electric clippers. At last, a rarity of good primetime TV, the Uncle promoted the "Andy Griffith Show Reunion" tonight on CBS after describing Leenana's kids having "Little House on the Prairie" haircuts. Caller that works at NBC 15 will try to get a sneak peak at CBS tonight. Today's show gets a 4.5/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle considering the show being a phenomenon in the Mobile region and Leeana enters the room with her report on Hollinger's Island LNG meeting, with Jo Bonnar speaking there. The Uncle assumed what Bonnar would be saying there, such as "I, Jo Bonnar, am opposed to the LNG", but none of them were ever said. One of the folks attending the meeting was dressed as the Grim Reaper, who even spoke. No, he didn't represent the LNG opposition, but actually supported it. Another surprise, nobody feared that guy dressed as the Reaper. No offence to the Reaper, who called in later in the show, the Uncle said he would rather not let him get near as possible. A shock to all Auburn fans, according to reports over the weekend Auburn will not make it to any championship games. The latest in the Uncle's responses to pranksters includes the following: whoever called in with that prank probably has been sniffing liquid natural gas (LNG). Today's show gets a 4/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with a shout of "Hey!" from the Uncle. Update on the LNG in a press release read on the air by the Uncle of a town hall type meeting Monday morning at 8:00 AM with Alabama Congressman Jo Bonnor. Yeah, Leeana will be attending since she works later at 710 AM. From the LNG to "The Matrix Revolution" in the Uncle/Leeana conversation! "A man trapped in a video game", as described by the Uncle on the entire Matrix and brings up the long standing of most 2nd movie sequels being awful. Sequels such as Star Trek 3. After an answering machine call of Leroy putting in his two cents on the Reagen mini-series being moved to Showtime, an audio clip of old Reagen was played. Michelle did her best explaining the Matrix movies to the Uncle. Well I'll be, the Uncle didn't refer anything at all to the half-hour ABC Newsbreak. Chris joins the parade of folk trying to explain the Matrix to the Uncle. Explanation for there being two Matrix movies released this year: both were produced at the same time. We learn that rated "R" movies are not the Uncle's cup of tea. After today's first prank, the Uncle says that prankster should be in a pod like the folks in the Matrix movies. Was that a dog barking during Sherry's call? I guess so! Philosophy runs of a-muck with a caller's eight-year-old son on life being a dream and death being God waking us up. "Counciling" suggested by the Uncle. Today's show gets a 5/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle looking forward to cooler temperatures this weekend, but not for the quality of today's calls with Leeana's now 18-year-old co-call screener Jessica is call screening. "Misleading at best", says the Uncle on WKRG-TV's Carl saying they would air a report on one of their newscasts last night. That was the first time the Uncle watched WKRG newscasts in many years. Reason for all that audio on the LNG terminal during the opening theme, an interesting development on the situation involving Gov. Riley's thought on there being safety tests set by the port authority. After the first prank, the Uncle brought up the risks of marijuana, which includes lost of ambition, such as good pranks. Leroy left an answering machine for playing, which was mostly about last night's Country Music Awards. E-mail from a spokeswoman of Mike Dow saying that the LNG tankers will be no threat to other ships in the ship channel. Not even the Uncle's talk on marijuana can stop another prankster. Today's show gets a 4.5/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show on this rainy, yet rejoiceful day, as described by the Uncle. It's official, the folks of Baldwin County have voted yes on Sunday alcoholic beverages. According to news from downtown, there appears to be bright spots for the foreseen future. WKRG-TV 5's Carl, whoever this is came in asking for the Uncle to play the Judge Roy Moore song again. The Uncle apologized to the elderly listeners that were listening around the time of that song. Could they possibly air video of visit to today's show tonight? Well then watch out for the Uncle on WKRG's newscasts tonight. Today's show gets a 4/5!

If only I was able to post more details, but I've been busy helping with the good folks at "The Price is Right Blog". Don't expect anything like that taking my attention away from the Uncle in the future.

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle checking his e-mail for the first time in a while. The Uncle suggests that Congress should step in on the junk e-mail, such as the pornographic ones the Uncle has even received himself. Surprise, there have been many songs written about the now suspended Judge Roy Moore. Yet another show beginning on a prankster and the Uncle suggests a Bible scripture for him. Answering machine call from Franklin of the Hollinger's Island region reports on the latest happenings on the LNG situation, including encouraging the folks in the area to continue to fight against this terminal. Charles rebuffs on that fellow yesterday insulting the Uncle. Another surprise to the Uncle, Scott Hunter of the calls in and begins his call with a suggestion for calling Baldwin County folks "Bay Wayeigns". Leeana walked in during the call with Scott Hunter to find out if that was a prankster or not. "Voice Quiz Friday" for Leeana after all of that. The Uncle quickly cut off "Bad Bill" after he insulted Lillian Jackson. Boothlow agrees with the idea of a statue of the Uncle, which was suggested recently. Jim asks what the Uncle has against Auburn and their fans, which is nothing at all. Even Alabama fans can get on the Uncle's nerves too. At last, the Judge Roy Moore songs are played, well excerpts anyway. Today's show gets a 4.5/5!

Today's Show

We start off today's show with the Uncle talking about his survival on Halloween while driving to the store, which included sighting "mock-suicides" in front yards. Caller sent in a report to Leeana on an accident on Eastbound I-10 involving a truck and trailer. Another surprise during the Uncle's Friday/weekend survival, in route to the store yet again for groceries, he discovered Christmas lights being put up on a home. "I know something about economic development, this is not economic development…" quote former Gov. Don Siegleman on the soon to be built Exxon-Mobil LNG. That guy that called in about this odd happening during Halloween, a boy in Crimson Tide uniform getting beat up just for the purpose of insulting the team better be lucky the Uncle kept his anger inside. As the Uncle tried getting a caller on the air, he could even hear himself being repeated. Thought you were going to escape old "Bad Bill" today thanks to the frequent busy signals, eh Uncle? Old Bill asks why the Uncle didn't go to Birmingham to see the so-called infidel known as Bush and puts in his amusing takes on him. Reminder, tomorrow, Baldwin County, vote on Sunday alcohol beverage sales. Don't expect the Uncle to vote on this "Drunkenness Vote", as he calls it. Well I'll be, the Uncle referred to Leeana as Leeann, since many callers refer to her by that name. Yeah, Leeana is her real name. "Another Bill" calls in with his own referring of the Uncle as an "uneducated hick" and "ignoramus". Looks like you've got two "Bad Bills" to deal with now, Uncle. Today's show gets a 5/5!
